Towards the west! Uggledalen / Owl Valley Beside Lindås klev, Brudslöjan & Björkåstrappa
A beautiful landscape follows the wide and comfortable gravel road away against cottage. Your eyes can focus on both mixed forest and open pastures. During the summer is the land open by grazing cattle.
Here you can strolling without any directly effort!
The croft is said to have been in use from the 1640s and until the 1950s. The dwelling had diverse purposes during the era. Some facts and key figures for the place can be found on the information board, near the cottage.
Once there in Vargön: road signs shows the way up to Halleberg. The parking for Uggledalen is only one km into the mountain.
A nice wooden table in good condition is quite close to the cottage. A place that is ideal for a coffee break.
The mountain's cultural history preserves among other via Västra Tunhems Hembygdsförening.
Here are almost all types of shoes absolutely right. The gravel road to Uggledalen is wide and the surface is smooth and steady.
A wheelchair should be able to pass around the road barrier against Uggledalen. A steady hand is possibly welcome for a disabled when the road goes a bit down and then up again.
The meandering gravel road passes some nice sweeping curves and passing through the forest, before the road reaches the pasture. Next comes the cottage on the left side.
The walk is about 800 m.
Difference In Altitude
The gravel road goes largely in parallel to a pair of height curves. The terrain that faces at both sides are either higher or lower than the road. At one point goes the road first a little bit downwards and then up again, otherwise is the slope mostly easy down.
The difference in height for the walk is about 20 m.
This walk in the cleft is fun, a little exciting and fairly steep. First pass beyond the cottage along the road, and there is a small sign that read Lindås klev (cleft walk).
The nature trail away against Björkåstrappa (rock stair) provides a pleasant hike on the mountain. Once at the top of Björkåstrappa is a sweeping view towards Vargön, Vänersborg.
The hiking trail is good signed from Uggledalen.
In the spring is the water level high in the stream and it's the right season to watch Brudslöjan (the waterfall).
Along Brudslöjan plunges Hallsjöbäckens waters down from the mountain precipice. The cliff has an overlooks down to Nordkroken.
First pass the croft and then walk 700 m more: to find the sign for Brudslöjan.
